Dr. Yatheesha B L

Dr. Yatheesha B L graduated (MBBS) from M S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore in 2003. He did his Diploma in Child Health (DCH) in 2006. Subsequently he also completed his Diplomate in National Board (DNB) at Amrita Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre in 2009. He has undergone a post graduate certificate course in Adolescence health from IMA AKN institute of continuing medical and health education & research. The learned doctor has a certificate course in Law and medicine. He also has a post graduate diploma in developmental neurology PGD-DN from the University of Trivandrum. He attained his Fellowship in Paediatric Neurology from Amrita Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre, Kochi in 2017.
Dr. Yatheesha started his professional journey as a resident medical officer at various hospitals in Bangalore. He has worked as a Paediatrician at Samaritan Hospital in Ooty which is a charitable hospital. The good doctor worked as senior resident in the department of paediatrics in Amrita Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre. AIMS is a 1200 tertiary care super speciality referral hospital which offered a huge learning opportunity and provided invaluable professional knowledge and expertise. Dr. Yatheesha also worked as Registrar in PVS memorial hospital, Kochi. The NICU here was a level 3 unit with 9 ventilators including a high frequency ventilator. The unit had an overall success rate of 92% in the survival of babies born of 28 weeks gestation and a birth weight of 800g and upwards. Dr. Yatheesha gained considerable practical knowledge about babies born out of high risk pregnancy, as this hospital serves as a fulcrum of high risk pregnancy care in this region. He worked as a consultant paediatrician in TSS hospital, Sirsi. Dr. Yatheesha was a consultant paediatrician in Vaatsalya hospital, Shimoga for more than five years. Vaatsalya hospital has a 14 bed NICU and 8 bed PICU. NICU is a level 3 set up capable of handling extreme low birth weight infants. Dr. Yatheesha was solely responsible for handling paediatric emergencies including mechanical ventilation. It is here at Vaatsalya that the yearning to gain more and more paediatric neurological knowledge intensified.
